San Felese Society Meeting Minutes March 16, 2022 Opening Prayer: · Offered by Frank Bruno Flag Salute: · Lead by Bill Frascella Minutes: · From previous meeting read and approved Treasurer’s Report: · Given by Rose Stia and approved with a balance of $xxxxxxxx Membership: · One new application received from Josephine Fink, voted on and approved for membership Scholarships: · Thank you cards read from two 2021 Scholarship Recipients · Jerry DeLorenzo reported that the 2022 Application is currently available online and the due date is 04/30/22; he noted to contact him if there are any questions; all applications with required materials must be mailed to the PO BOX and post marked no later than the due date · A motion was made and approved to have a separate scholarship luncheon or dinner in June so that scholarship recipients can have a greater chance of being able to attend since most are not able to attend the Christmas luncheon in December due to still being away at college (date and place TBA) · Previous scholarship recipients will be invited to attend Proposed Activities: · General Business/Dinner Meeting (June) – Will be notified via email/mail/website/Facebook page · Thunder Baseball Game (July) · Patronal Feast Mass and Dinner (August) · Theater Trip (Surflight LBI) (Fall) · General Business/Dinner Meeting (November) · Christmas/120th Anniversary Celebration (December 11th, Mercer Oaks) Solicitations: · St. Jude’s Hospital: $100 motion made and approved · Sunshine Foundation: $100 motion made and approved · Ocean County Columbus Day Parade Ad: $60 motion made and approved · Mass Card (Bob Toth, husband of Member Pauline Toth) $10 motion made and approved New Business · Gary Zarrilli presented information about the various bus trips he is running and proposed that one of them could be run as a fundraiser for the scholarship program. He will forward us information which we will email out to the membership · Gilda Rorro gave a presentation on the status of the Christopher Columbus statue that was removed from Columbus Park in Trenton and is currently in possession with the City of Trenton. Negotiations continue to have it refurbished and relocated. Will continue to provide updates to the membership. · Members present inquired about more information about the history of San Fele and it’s patron saints and President Tom Frascella presented some great information.
